|Message from the Director of the Library
The Library at Eden Theological Seminary performs a crucial function in the educational program of the institution. Individuals like us have been discussing God, what to believe and how to live our lives since the beginning of humanity. These conversations are captured in print and digital forms in libraries around the world. At Eden we provide students and the faculty access to these recorded conversations to inform and ground the on-going conversations of today—those taking place in Eden classrooms, over lunch in the Commons, in the congregations served by Eden students and graduates, and in the broader public debates of our society.
Eden Seminary works closely with our neighbor, Webster University, to provide our learning community with a broad range of resources in religion, theology, cognate subjects and other disciplines. The combined print and digital collections of the Webster/Eden Library System total more than 300,000 volumes, 12,000 DVDs, 135 online databases, and 1,500 current periodical subscriptions. We are also a member of MOBIUS, a state-wide consortium of academic libraries that maintains a common catalog and provides document delivery of requested items to patrons.
Being a partner in the important continuing conversations of our time, and participating in those conversations occurring at Eden, is challenging and life-giving. Come, join in the Conversation.
