Received his Master of Divinity Degree
“In high school, I was an active member of the United Church of Christ of Canton, Ohio where I learned a great deal and gained leadership skills and a passion for social justice issues. When I went to college, I joined a UCC in Columbus, Ohio. After a few years of not attending church, my partner and I joined an open and affirming UCC church. After a very difficult year in my life, I sought spiritual guidance. It was at that point that I realized I had been given a call to ministry as a youth, and now I must pursue that call to serve in a church-led setting. I researched several seminaries across the country, and my search ended at Eden. I was very impressed by the close-knit community atmosphere.
“The faculty is very open, present and available. I felt supported and respected by the faculty and the students. My experiences in contextual education allowed me to explore my call through work with a non-profit agency, in church leadership and as a health care chaplain. Eden’s emphasis on integration gave me the opportunity to reflect on Christian traditions and scripture and their intersection with modern society. Eden is a beacon of light calling the church into ecumenical dialogue and liberal theology.”
