Types of Gifts
Your gifts help Eden to accomplish its important work. You can choose to
specify exactly how those gifts are applied or make an "unrestricted"
gift that Eden can apply as needed. There are many ways to make a
donation to support Eden, its students and program. Different gift
types have different advantages for individuals given their life
circumstances. We suggest that you consult with your financial adviser
or attorney as you make your plans. Please feel free to contact the
Office of Institutional Advancement at 1.877.627.5649 for more
Gifts of cash
A gift of cash is the simplest way to support Eden. Such gifts can provide direct and immediate support to Eden, and in most cases are fully deductible for donors who itemize their federal income taxes.
You may wish to:
- Mail a check to the seminary
- Make a credit card donation online
- Make a credit card donation over the phone
Corporate Matching Gift
Many companies match employee contributions to charities such as Eden, which leverages the power of your contribution. The human resources office at your workplace can tell you about your company’s policies and provide you with the necessary forms to secure their match.
Gifts of Stocks and Securities
Gifts of appreciated stocks and securities may be deducted at full market value on the date of transfer to Eden. Stocks and securities that have been held for one year or longer are deductible up to 30% of your adjusted gross income; the balance may be carried forward with the same limitations for up to five years. You do not pay capital gain tax on the appreciation of the asset when the property is sold by the seminary. The deduction for gifts of appreciated property held for one year or less is limited to the lower of your cost basis or fair market value.
For information about transferring stocks and securities please contact Bryce Krug,
Vice President of Institutional Advancement at 314-918-2568.
A planned gift offers the donors the opportunity to make a significant gift to the seminary and continue to receive income from the gift during their lifetime, or for the lifetime of another beneficiary.

There are a variety of ways that one can use real estate to make a gift that will benefit Eden Theological Seminary as well as the donor. For information about giving with real estate contact Stella Schoen
