The John Bracke Lectures on Congregational Leadership was inaugurated in 2013 in honor of Eden Professor Dr. John Bracke, Martha McCall Egan Professor of Biblical Studies, who taught Old Testament and Congregational Leadership. Dr. Bracke retired in 2012 after teaching at Eden for 28 years.
Over the course of his distinguished career at Eden Seminary, Professor John Bracke provided leadership in many areas of seminary life in his teaching of the Old Testament, he has engaged generations of seminary students in their first and most challenging study of the Bible. He not only brought the text to life in the classroom but also helped students access critical thinking in the study of sacred texts. In his leadership in administration of the seminary, his work strengthened the school in countless ways.
