The Walker Fellows program is a cohort based initiative to acknowledge, gather, and develop emerging religious leaders and provide experiences of service, fellowship, and renewal. The first cohort of the Walker Fellows will be made up of leaders serving in the greater St Louis area. Specifically, the program seeks those in their first five years who are designated leaders in their faith community and who have demonstrated high potential for significant future leadership.
During this one year program, the Walker Fellows will receive training to strengthen their personal, organizational, and community leadership and management skills. Walker Fellows will join in conversation with business, political, and community leaders, innovators, and catalysts from across the St Louis region as well as Eden faculty who have particular expertise related to generative responses and pressing social issues, all while working together for the Common Good. Topics include technology for social engagement, organizational dynamics, resource development, financial management, creativity, innovation, and organizational sustainability.
Participants will gather for a one day retreat followed by a series of monthly half day meetings over the next year. In addition, they will have access to special opportunities, speakers, and events with collaborating organizations. And finally, In this inaugural year, our first cohort of Walker Fellows will play a significant role in the design of the program for future cohorts.
