Kevin Kelley

Doctor of Ministry

Kevin is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and currently serves the First Christian Church of Platte City, Missouri.  In addition to his Master of Divinity, Kevin also holds a Master of Arts degree in Music.  The Kelley family is celebrating triple graduations this month as sons Adam and Joshua have completed their Masters and Bachelor degrees.

Deborah Anderson

Master of Divinity

While earning a music degree at Webster University and utilizing the Eden Library, Deborah was drawn to the spiritual, serene, and educational atmosphere of Eden Seminary.  After 42 years of teaching music and serving as Minister of Music, she answered “Yes” to the call from God to matriculate at Eden. In stepping out on faith at Eden, she learned that if she can help somebody as she travels on, then her living shall not be in vain.

Alan Bailey

Master of Divinity

Alan serves as Pastor of First Christian Church (DOC) in California, Missouri.  He has previously served churches in Tipton, Montgomery City, and Auxvasse.  Alan is grateful to his wife and son for their compassion and understanding while he completed his studies at Eden.  He has been blessed by all of the professors, staff and fellow classmates at Eden who have shared a part of their lives with him and looks forward to continuing in the ministry that God has called him to.  Praise God from whom all blessings flow!  And now it’s time to get back to work.

Autumn Dennis

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Autumn has been active in ecumenical service and justice activities for the past ten years. They are a graduate of Martin Methodist College, Vanderbilt Divinity School, and now Eden Theological Seminary.  Ordained in October 2015 through Amos House Community, a church in the Catholic Worker tradition, they have prior professional experience as a homeless outreach worker and advocate, a hospital chaplain, and have worked in a variety of non-profits. For the past two years, Autumn has served as Director of Missions at Manchester United Methodist Church.

Jennifer Einspahr

Master of Divinity

Jennifer currently serves at Peace United Church of Christ in Webster Groves. She continues to be responsive to the ways in which God will call her into ministry and mission.

Helen French

Master of Divinity

After ministering to others for over 38 years as a businesswoman and through international ministry, Helen has accepted the call to ordination at an amazing time in her life.  Ordained ministry is a gift she received from God before the foundation of the world.  She is excited about all that God has planned for God’s people through her life’s service.

Phillip Harris

Master of Divinity

Phillip’s time at Eden has been transformative! He is not the same person that he was three years ago.  He is thankful for all Eden has taught me.  Although these three years have not been the smoothest, he’s thankful for the journey and those who have loved him and supported him on the way.  He is looking forward to the future, and all that God has in store.

Matthew Helis

Master of Divinity

Matthew spent many years not knowing where he was going in life, but eventually realized that God had been guiding him the whole time.  Eden has been a wonderful journey of developing his faith and discerning God’s presence in his life. Through Eden he has developed a passion for exploring new ways of understanding scripture and also integrating modern digital methods of communication into worship. He looks forward to continuing to walk down the path of ministry to wherever God is calling him.

Renee Johnson

Master of Divinity

Renee retired after 32 wonderful years of being employed by the St. Louis Special School District as a Speech Pathologist. Even with over a decade of pastoral experience, she wanted to attend seminary more than anything.  The Lord gave her the desire of her heart. She was blessed to enroll at Eden in 2018. It has been a journey of joy and she is so grateful.

Gabrielle Kennedy

Master of Divinity

Gabrielle ministers wherever: home, school, work, church, urban, suburan and rural settings. After a career of 15 years in Medicaid Managed Care across the state of Missouri, she answered the call to ministry and was ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.  Gabrielle currently serves as pastor of Buren Chapel AME Church and as Director of Faith & For the Sake of All’s race equity program.  Gabrielle finds collaboration with God’s unquestionable, liberating love for God’s people to be the primary motivation for her ministry and her life.  She has shared this journey with an incredible network of family and friends, without whom this accomplishment would have been impossible.

Lisa King

Master of Divinity

“When do you finish school?” This was the interminable question asked of Lisa Hubbard King. Her collegiate journey began at 41 with the intention of being a “prepared preacher.”  Prayers of perseverance, a loving family, working and serving full-time held Lisa to the call 12 years later. She desires to never be finished “learning of the wonderful creation and plans of God” as she discerns a church plant and doctorate.

Emma Landowski

Master of Divinity

Emma has felt the call to ministry since she was nine years old. As the years have unfolded she has grown into an eco-feminist theologian with a heart for building interfaith and non-faith partnerships and communities.  As a chaplain, she believes it is her role to offer sacred space for people in their most raw and authentic forms of trauma and grief.  After graduation, she will continue to serve as a PRN Chaplain for St. Louis University Hospital and will be starting a Clinical Pastoral Education Residency program this fall with SSM Health here in St. Louis.  She continues to be a Member in Discernment with the United Church of Christ and anticipates ordination in the not-so-distant future.

Harold Long

Master of Divinity

Harold has spent most of his career as an entrepreneur in the insurance and financial services industry. He completed his bachelor’s in professional studies, along with his master’s in business administration from Missouri Baptist University.  Harold has also been in bi-vocational ministry for the last 33 years, mainly focused on prison and recovery ministries, as well as helping plant a church in the Shaw neighborhood of St. Louis. Harold sold his last insurance and financial services firm in 1996 and has been as been a fulltime licensed local pastor with the United Methodist Church ever since. Harold and his wife Suzie will be moving from Branson back to the St. Louis area to take over a new church in June of this year.

Noah McCarn

Master of Divinity

Noah leaves seminary not sure where his path will take him. He entered seminary wondering where his place was in the world. Seminary has been only one of many stepping stones in life that are leading him into possibility and authenticity. His heart remains open to conversations with the sacred as his journey unfolds before him.

S. Jewell S. McGhee

Master of Divinity

In a burst of colorful confetti, Jewell slides out of the doors of Eden into ministry embraced by theological and embodied imagination. She uses the skills gained in her award-winning professional artistic career, the endurance and perseverance gained through her translations of ancient languages (Greek, Hebrew, Ge’ez (Ancient Ethiopian), Middle Egyptian, Latin and Ugaritic), and the God-given passion for communities built of justice, compassion, lament and celebration. Jewell loves collaboration and is expecting to hear from you soon with an awesome idea to create together!

Jewell is a Certified Candidate for Ordination on the Elder track with the United Methodist Church.

Master of Divinity

In absentia

Barbara Schuette

Master of Divinity

Barbara was relocating to St. Louis when she felt called to enroll as a non-degree student at Eden in the summer of 2014.  The next year she had both completed the move and decided to enter the degree program.  As she knew it would, her studies at Eden have enlarged and enhanced her previous work and studies in the areas of child and family social work and education.  She looks to God to reveal what is next in her life.

Tarrah Vaupel

Master of Divinity

While her soul was rooted in music ministry, Tarrah found a love for working with youth.  During her 10 years in youth ministry, she long sensed and humbly answered the call to Ordained Ministry.  Tarrah’s ministry seeks the establishing of God’s justice for all created beings.  She has also discerned a passion for Disabilities Ministry.

Magloire Kawang

Master of Theological Studies

When God points a finger at you for service, then like Jonah, you can never escape that call, no matter how long you try to deny the call to ministry! When Gloria realized that she was chosen for this ministerial journey, she quickly replied: Here am I, HOLY ONE, send me. The hardships, hate, love, and care that she encountered on her journey to ministry have made her a bold, strong, and compassionate woman of God, ready to serve God wherever there is a need.

Mtipe Koggani

Master of Theological Studies

At the age of 10 Mtipe started serving at his home Church. Since then, he has been serving different leadership positions in different ministries. He is the author of a book, “Discover your innate ability” and 2019-2020 Co-president of Eden Seminary student cabinet. He is looking forward to merging his background in law and theology for the good of God’s people.

Vivan Williams

Master of Theological Studies

As a little girl, Vivian fit into the ministry roles that were part of her family’s vocation. As she journeyed through life as a teacher, business person, church Presbyter, and Women’s Bible class leader, she always felt the need to serve as a Pastor. She finally responded to that call to follow and serve. She is humbled to come for further studies at Eden. As a fourth-generation ordained pastor, her desire is to go back home and continue with ministry in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana.
