LIFE (Lifelong Learning Institute of Faith Exploration) is an open enrollment program for all people of faith: lay persons, clergy, seekers, churches and nones. LIFE is a series of mostly one-day seminars designed for anyone who would like to deepen and enrich their understanding of scripture, theology, history and the church.
Theological education offers gifts of revitalized faith that will enrich not only the person but the whole church. LIFE puts these gifts and resources in everyone’s grasp and will equip participants for a variety of ministries in the church and world. Your spiritual life and faith formation will be enriched in ways yet to be imagined.
The most current biblical, theological and ethical scholarship, led by Eden faculty, leaders in scholarship in their fields. Seminars include stimulating conversation and reflecting with others eager to explore Christian faith, life and leaderships. Recent seminar topics include:

History and Polity of the United Church of Christ
Take the LIFE Congregational Leadership Certificate track – complete twelve seminars and one discernment retreat in a 24-month period.
- Gain theological competency elevating your leadership skills within your church and community.
- The Certificate may be used by United Church of Christ Conferences as one of the indications of your consideration for UCC authorized ministry.
SCHEDULE & COST
Six seminars are held each academic year on Eden’s campus (mid September, early November, early January, early March, and late April.)
Please visit our Events page where you can find your next opportunity to register for LIFE. LIFE seminars are taught as Saturday only events typically from 9am to 4pm.
The Saturday only classes are $130 and include a light breakfast and lunch. The cost of preparatory reading materials (books, articles, etc) is additional. One Friday evening to Sunday morning Discernment Retreat is held in June or July each year.
