Dr. Sharon Tan serves as Eden’s Acting Dean of the Seminary for the 2018-2019 academic year. Her responsibilities at Eden include a special focus on three areas:

  1. Assuring continuity of the Master of Divinity, Master of Theological Studies and Doctor of Ministries degree programs,
  2. Assisting Eden in its Accreditation Process with the ATS and HLC, and
  3. Moving programmatic elements of Eden’s strategic plan forward.

Dr. Tan is a teacher and scholar in theological ethics, with specialties in Asian American Christian ethics, comparative religious ethics, justice, reconciliation and religious studies. Dr. Tan’s published works include the book, The Reconciliation of Races and Classes: How Religion Contributes to Politics and Law. 

Dr. Tan is on sabbatical from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities where she is the Vice President for Academic Strategy. Dr. Tan was United’s academic dean before assuming her present position.
