Dear Prospective International Student:
Thank you for your interest in studying at Eden Theological Seminary.
We are pleased to have international students continue their studies with us. Eden is a graduate school which prepares women and men for ordained Christian ministry. One of the six seminaries of the United Church of Christ, Eden is a community committed to fighting for the greater good across the globe. Eden welcomes everyone, regardless of denominational ties, gender-identity, sexual-orientation, class, or background. All international students start in the fall cohort for each academic year.
Eden’s policy regarding International Students seeking admission to any Master program requires that applicants:
(1) Receive a recommendation from the Judicatory or Regional Minister of their denomination;
(2) Church or denomination be recognized as a partner by Global Ministries of the United Church of Christ/Disciples of Christ (Christian Church) OR that they be a member of a church that is already in partnership with Eden Theological Seminary; and
(3) Arrange for or provide all expenses to cover travel to and from Eden from their country of residence; apply for and pay for their SEVIS Visa and provide for their own books over 4-semesters of attendance.
I regret to inform you that Eden does not provide scholarships for students if they do not have these relationships already in place. If you are not sure that your church is a Global Ministries Partner, please check with your Judicatory or Regional Minister Representative to confirm this arrangement.
Once you have confirmed that you meet the requirements, please forward the following items to me at admissio
[email protected] to begin the next step in your application process:
1. A letter of recommendation from your Judicatory or Regional Minister
2. A letter of introduction or name of your Global Ministries Partner Liaison
3. A statement that describes why you want to study at Eden Theological Seminary including your answers the below questions:
• Are you Ordained? When were you ordained? How long have you served as an ordained leader in your church?
• How did you learn about Eden? If someone told you about Eden, please indicate who it was and how you know them.
• Describe your call to ministry.
• What are your goals for ministry post-graduation from Eden?
After you have answered the above questions, I will send your information to our committee for international students. We look forward to hearing more about you and your interest in Eden.
Peace and blessings,
Dana McNamara, M.Div. c/o 2016
