Rev. Dr. John Allen has served as the director of the House of Studies for Chaplaincy since 2016. He is a chaplain certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) and a CPE educator certified by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). He serves as both chaplain and educator at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital.
Rev. Allen enjoys introducing students to pastoral care specialties and chaplains who work in those specialties: health care, hospice, corrections, military, veterans, palliative care, virtual and others. His courses are interactive discussions with chaplains, who make themselves available after the course for students interested in chaplaincy as a ministry possibility.
He earned both his MDiv (2010) and DMin (2019) at Eden and is ordained in the United Church of Christ.
