Speaker:
The Rt. Rev. Deon Johnson
Bishop, The Episcopal Diocese of Missouri

Theme:  Leader as Midwife- Guiding What is New into Being
“But the midwives feared God…” What does faith-filled leadership in the time of upheaval and challenge look like? What lessons can we learn from our spiritual ancestors who answered God’s call in a time of crisis? How do leaders partner with God in birthing something new? Looking through the lens of the Hebrew Midwives in the Book of Exodus, Bishop Deon K. Johnson will explore the many ways in which faith leaders are called, in this unique time, to step into the role of midwifing the new thing that God is about to do. As leaders communities of faith vision towards the next normal, we are challenged to discover anew the innovative, creative, and imaginative skills needed to lead through change and birth something new.
