Certificate Course: Missional Leadership

Course Description:
Leading a Missional Organization: church and nonprofit management.

In this course, we will look at scripture, lessons in leadership from history, academic theory, examples from current missional organizations, and hands-on practical methods for leading organizations that are mission-focused. The course covers vision, mission, and values as well as financial, human resource, technology, governance, and volunteer management practices for leading the mission-driven organization.

About the Instructor:

The Rev. Steve Lawler is the founding Director of the Walker Leadership Institute at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He works to extend the Institute’s mission of leadership for the common good through the Institute’s programming, presentations and workshops.

Ordained in the Episcopal church, Rev. Lawler served from 2001 to 2019 as the priest of St. Stephens & The Vine, a parish and community collaboration hub in Ferguson, Missouri.
