Certificate Course: Non-Profit/Church Storytelling
Course Description:
Humans are storytelling beings. Through story, we convey our culture and beliefs, share our history and core values, build communities, transfer knowledge, and understand ourselves and each other better. Stories help us remember, connect, and engage.
Through this interactive, online workshop, we will explore the core concepts and structure of story, the framing of stories, viewpoints, narrative arcs and archetypes, and why each of these matters.
We will create together: We will participate in hands-on exercises to help us identify and craft our stories. We will practice telling our stories in pairs and small groups, receive guidance on editing and polishing our stories, and learn about the many ways we can use and share our stories. This course delves into philosophical importance of stories and includes skill-building for practical implementation.
