Course Information
The LIFE (Lifelong Learner Institute of Faith Exploration) program will offer two courses this month.
Certificate class: “Shaping Faithful worship,” with Rev. Dr. Christopher Grundy
Shaping Faithful Worship with Rev. Dr. Christopher Grundy is a class that will change how you view the planning and leading of worship. Just as importantly, it will change how you EXPERIENCE worship! This class is not only for those who help plan and lead worship. This class will change your perception of worship, and how we engage as a community of faith. It will engage you, it will energize you, and renew your commitment to faithful worship in your setting.
Recommended reading: “The Work of the People: What We Do in Worship and Why,” by Alban Press, Marlea Gilbert, Christopher Grundy, Eric Myers, and Stephanie Perdew.
Elective Class: “Islam: Faith, Tradition, and Culture,” with Layla Goushey
This course examines Islamic religious tradition including notable Muslim scholars and schools of jurisprudence. Theological and philosophical traditions that influence modern Muslim communities will be reviewed. Current events that impact Muslim communities will be discussed. Short films, readings, and recordings are included to encourage class discussion.
The LIFE program welcomes laity and clergy seeking to explore their Christian faith.
