Certificate Course: UCC History & Polity

Course Description:
This intensive class will provide an overview of the predecessor denominations that shaped the United Church of Christ’s style of congregational governance.  It will also look at how General Synod functions, explore some theological foundations, discuss how the authorization process works and review educational resources available from the denomination.

Who Should Take this Class?
All are welcome at LIFE! Students, pastors, laypersons and seekers from all denominations and walks of life are welcome to join the program to be enriched and inspired by LIFE. Join us!

About the Instructor:

Dr. Jill Baker is active at the local, Conference and national levels of the United Church of Christ.  She is presently Moderator of the Illinois South Conference UCC, a volunteer on the General Synod production team, and director of the Rainbow Camp in her Conference.  Dr. Baker is also an adjunct faculty member at Eden Seminary.
