Global Church Partnerships and International Students at Eden Theological Seminary
Thank you for your interest in becoming a student at Eden Theological Seminary!
Eden is proud to support capacity building for the church around the world through global ecumenical relationships with denominations and their judicatories. A limited number of scholarships are available to support these global church relationships through which students sent by those church bodies study on campus in Missouri in pursuit of the Master of Theological Studies degree. These scholarships are only available through a pre-established church relationship with regional judicatory or national church bodies in a student’s home country. The MTS degree is the only eligible academic program for these scholarships.
Before proceeding with your application, please consult your regional judicatory or national church body to confirm sending church status with Eden. If a relationship exists, that church leader may recommend you to Eden and Eden will begin consideration of you for admission and one of the seminary’s international student scholarships. This relationship must be initiated by your ecclesiastical leader who communicates directly with the Rev. Mary Schaller Blaufuss, Eden’s Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships at [email protected]. They will communicate about the various mutual responsibilities of the church and seminary relationship.
If your regional judicatory or national church body is not currently in relationship with Eden, your first step will be to request that your ecclesiastical leader contact Eden’s Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships [email protected], to discuss expectations and opportunities for partnership development. This process can take several months, so we encourage you to begin this process early. If a sending church relationship is established, we will notify you so that you then can begin your application for admission and scholarship.
If a relationship between Eden and your congregation or denomination does not exist and will not be developed, you may still apply for admission to Eden Theological Seminary. However, no scholarship funds will be available to you, and you will be required to cover the full cost of tuition, fees, and other expenses, including travel, accommodation, and living expenses, should you desire to complete your education on our campus in the United States.
We appreciate supporting the leadership development of churches around the world! We wish you all the best.
