*A degree path where students will earn both a Master’s degree from Eden Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University or a Master of Business Administration from Elmhurst University.  The Elmhurst MBA is available via distance education. Contact the Eden Admissions department for more information about these programs.

Application Due Dates

Planning to start in the Fall? Apply by August 1st to ensure full processing and on-time enrollment. Starting in the Spring? Apply by  November 15th to guarantee processing and enrollment before the semester begins.

Applications received after these dates will be processed as they are received but may result in delayed enrollment to a later term.

References

References should be individuals who have known you or worked with you for a significant period of time who can attest to your character, vocational goals, previous academic engagement, and/or ministerial service. They may not be a family member. Examples of suitable references include personal references; co-workers or supervisors; pastors, chaplains, other authorized ministers, or spiritual directors; professors, instructors or faculty advisors; local, regional, or national office-holders in your religious body.

Reference Checklist

  • Name, email, and phone number for each of your references
  • Let your references know we’ll be in touch with them and they will have to return a completed recommendation form
Writing Sample

You’ll also need to upload a writing sample with your application.

Unless specified otherwise, each application should include a writing sample that addresses the following prompt:
Write a 300-600-word essay describing your motivation for seeking theological education. What has inspired you to apply, and how do you see the program you are applying for supporting your interests and vocational goals?
